Umbria: MONTONE CASA GNETTI – Now reduced from 1.350,000 to 1.050,000 euros

Apr 18th, 2009 | By | Category: Exceptional Property Offers September 2017

Recognized as one of the most beautiful borgos of Italy, Montone is a small town in the province of Perugia, immersed among the green rolling hills of the Upper Tiber Valley, 40 km from the region main town. Its origins probably date back to the Middle Age, when the borgo had been built on a hilltop placed on the juncture of the rivers Tevere and Carpina. Famous to be the birthplace of the well-known leader Fortebraccio da Montone, the town has been ruled for a long time by the Marchesi del Monte first and the Vitelli then, to be finally included to the Papal state around 1500.

Only 8 km from this lovely place and half way between Montone and Pietralunga, we find this lovely farmhouse on a panoramic position, just 500 metres above the sea level, with beautiful view on the landscape of Tuscany, Umbria and Le Marche. The position where the property is located is private and extremely reserved, although not at all isolated.

The house has been carefully restored a few years ago, by keeping all the original features.

The property is composed of three independent units: the manor apartment and two units for the guests, with access on the rear of the house.
The first unit, which is accessed from the front of the property, is composed of: entrance, habitable kitchen, dining room, living room with fireplace and studio with mezzanine.
The first floor, boasts four bedrooms and two bathrooms.

The two guest-apartments are composed of one and two bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, dining/living room and kitchen. Still on the ground floor there is a laundry room, a cantina, a laundry room and a another bathroom. It would be possible to convert the other rooms into living area.

The small chapel dates back to 1600 that lies next to the main house is currently used as storage rooms, but can be even turned into a secondary dependence.

The property comprises also a lovely pool 7 x 14 metres with 3 m maximum depth and 2 hectares of arable land.

The access is through a white road in good condition.
