It’s a fact…..British first-time buyers look to Italy!
Aug 3rd, 2008 | By Emma | Category: Featured ArticlesItaly is one of the top destinations for British first time buyers looking to purchase abroad. A recent survey of British first-time buyers found that the credit crunch is pushing nearly half of them to buy their home overseas rather than in the UK, and now it appears that many of them are coming to relocate. Statistics show that more than half the number of first-timers planning to buy abroad will treat the property as their home, rather than an investment.
Despite the strong euro, many buyers believe their money will go further abroad than at home. The actual number of first-timers looking for a slice of the “Dolce Vita” has increased from 12% to 17% in a 2-year period. To further this, a study showed that British enquiries for Italian properties has grown by 24%. Now, besides the ever popular regions of Tuscany and Umbria, people are looking further afield into regions such as Le Marche, Puglia and Calabria.
This trend has certainly been the case with clients and now new friends from Dublin, Paul and Lorraine Bryson. First-time buyers Paul and Lorraine have always wanted to realise their dream to own an Italian home. They have holidayed in Italy over many years, sometimes returning 2 or 3 times in a year, always taking some time out to see “what’s available”. Now, their dream has come true…..in March,.they became the proud owners of a beautiful restored apartment in a casa padronale in Pergo, just 5 minutes from Cortona, Tuscany. Back in Dublin, they rent a Georgian apartment in the city.
So, what are you waiting for……….we have a very large selection of properties to meet all your requirements, and you too can enjoy the endless delights of this beautiful country. Hope to hear from you soon!
