Perugia Jazz FestivalUmbria Jazz Festival 2008 is one of the most important events dedicated to jazz in Europe For 35 years, the historic centre of Perugia has hosted this famous event. Since this time, world famous jazz artists have come to Perugia.

The Jazz Festival takes place during the month of July, and this year, for 10 days from 11th – 20th July, Perugia is transformed into a music lovers’ paradise, when numerous concerts and musical extravaganza take place. This year is no exception with famous names such as Alicia Keys (19 July), REM (20 July) and Sonny Rollins (13 July) to name but a few Tickets for these concerts are already available for sale.

Evening concerts are held at the Arena Santa Giuliana, where the most famous names appear. There are also afternoon and evening concerts held at Perugia’s two historic theatres, Teatro Morfacchi and Teatro Pavone, or simply enjoy the free open-air concerts, for young people and families alike. All this, consisting of a mix of good music and fine food – which you will find in many of the restaurants in the town centre – aperitifs, jazz lunches and dinners, set in one of the most beautiful cities in central Italy, with its wealth of fine art and architecture. What more could you ask for?
