September breezes in….

Dec 18th, 2008 | By | Category: Property of the Week

Ciao a Tutti !

As September breezed in we still languished in the hot Mediterranean summer that seemed to last forever with temperatures remaining between 30-35 deg.C  and thoughts of autumn far away…….. Although the most dramatic storm embraced us last week-end and has since cooled down the air somewhat, phewwww, but still no rain!

From mid-August in Italy definitely sees a period of fun, enjoyment and entertainment, be it festas and fireworks, open air concerts under the stars – from opera, jazz and swing and with musical concertos played by fine musicians.  We also had the added bonus here in Todi to enjoy al-fresco cinematography rolling out classic and great Hollywood films ….all played out in our wondrous medieval town.   Above all the sense of enjoyment and taking part is infectious.

We also took time out when an English friend visited from 1st September.  They were so happy to escape the damp and dismal summer in England.  They stayed at a beautiful Agriturisimo close by and enjoyed the organic fruits of the land.  They were well and truly inaugurated into the festa and concert scene and had no time to take a breath before the next…..   A very pleasant day was spent in the Etruscan town of Cortona and the mystical LakeTrasimeno.  I think they returned relaxed, happy and refreshed!

On the property scene, Aug-Sep has seen amazing property offers and reductions in Tuscany and Umbria in particular– a beautiful country house near Todi, Umbria, a majestic medieval hill town, which was given the prestigious title by a group of American researchers a few years ago, as the “most aesthetically pleasing place to live in the world!”    I agree, but then I am biased as I live here too!   What about a lovely restored stone farmhouse Nr. Arezzo, Tuscany, reduced 30,000 euros or perhaps a great investment in a historic Florence apartment with terrace in the heart of the renaissance city.  For further information on these properties, please check out this month’s Exceptional Property Offers.

Please look out for my “featured article” this month, Puglia, and all it has to offer in terms of land and seascapes, natural beauty and above all, some very interesting property proposals,,,,,,,,,,

That’s all for now and “thank you” to those who have commented on various topics and articles…….I await yours !

Best Wishes
