Time for the Vines !

Dec 20th, 2008 | By | Category: Property of the Week

Ciao a tutti !

From the last week of September we saw a distinct cooling of the temperature – a welcome break!  However, this short term change only lasted one week and temperatures returned to a very mellow 25 deg and here we are with just 10 days to go before November, and basking in these lovely warm autumnal days and still without any rain I hasten to add!.

It is lovely to see the ever changing landscape throughout the seasons, now into autumn with the beautiful orange, golds and browns of the trees changing colour and we also have the magical and mystical mists that cut across our view and Todi in the distance resembles a town on a lake!!!  Pure magic.    It seems everyday, there is some change to look at

End of September is a very important time in Italy …….Time for the vines.   We helped our friends with their grape harvest, which will materialise around 150 bottles of vino rosso…..hic.  So, naturally looking forward, come Dec/Jan, to one or two bottles coming our way.  It was a great week-end, a true Italian experience …….we stopped for lunch and had a picnic (salame, cheese, proscuito, sausages, mixed salad with lots of fresh crusty rustic bread, fruit and not forgetting a bottle of vino, under a big old olive tree – perfetto!,

Talking of inauguration… our Dublin friends, recent proud owners of a beautiful apartment in a restored casa padronale in Cortona were well and truly “welcomed” into their borgo – they were surrounded by gifts from their Italian neighbours, fruit, flowers, wine and Tuscan cookery books!.   Fancy a break in this beautiful hilltop town of Cortona ?  made famous by the film “Under the Tuscan Sun“ and steeped in history… you can rent the Cortona apartment short or long term during autumn/winter months at a very reasonable price. So why not take advantage of the beautiful warm autumnal weather or a Christmas break and this lovely apartment and all Cortona has to offer.  For further information, please view http://www.property.livinginitaly.co.uk/listing-Enchanting+Cortona+Apartment+for+rental-1300.html

Property wise, there are some beautiful properties I would like to highlight this month.  Remaining on the vine theme, there is a wonderful prestigious Greve in Chianti Tuscan Farmhouse with Chianti Vineyard producing Chianti Classico in 3.3 hectares of land http://www.property.livinginitaly.co.uk/index.php?action=listingview&listingID=1317&submit2=View+Property  Or a luxurious Sardinian Villa in San Teodoro with panoramic sea views http://www.property.livinginitaly.co.uk/listing-Luxurious+Villa+at+San+Teodoro-1132.html

How about a unique proposition of having the opportunity to have your own olive grove, vineyard or citrus orchard.  Villas in Parco Montalto in the Salento, Puglia, offer this possibility with a beautiful panoramic view of the sea as a backdrop.  Prices start from 139,000 euros.  For more info. http://www.property.livinginitaly.co.uk/listing-Villa+Montalto+in+Parco+Montalto-1242.html  If you need any further information on any of these properties, please contact myself direct.

That’s all for now, but please keep checking “exceptional property offers” you will be amazed at what great offers there are !!

Ciao, a presto!
